The Parks and Recreation Department seeks approval to procure goat vegetation management services from Goatscaping, LLC, with an estimated expenditure of $61,196.80.
"Goatscaping" presents an eco-friendly approach to vegetation control, effectively reducing unwanted, often nonnative plant growth to foster open spaces and enhance fire mitigation across City-owned and maintained areas.
Building upon successful collaborations with Goatscaping, LLC in previous vegetation management endeavors, this project targets approximately 65 acres encompassing areas of Wilbarger Park Phase II, sections along the Heritage Loop (Gilleland Creek) trail from Immanuel Road to Split Oak Dr, and segments along Gilleland Creek at Gilleland Creek Park.
Funding for this initiative is allocated from the Trail Maintenance and Repair account within the FY24 General Fund.
