Title
Hold a public hearing and consider approving an ordinance on first reading with the caption reading: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS ADOPTING THE FISCAL YEAR 2012 BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF PFLUGERVILLE, TEXAS.  
 
Summary
The City of Pflugerville Charter requires that a public hearing be held on the proposed fiscal year budget before it is approved.  The attached advertisement regarding the public hearing was published in the Pflugerville Pflag on September 1, 2011.  Copies of the proposed budget are available for public inspection at City Hall, the Pflugerville Library, and on the City website.  The proposed budget has been reviewed by the Council during worksessions held in July and August, and changes were made to the originally proposed budget at Council's request.
 
A summary of the budget requirements as set out in the City's Charter are attached with reference to the pages where the information will be found.
 
Deadline for City Council Action
The Fiscal Year 2011-2012 budget must be approved prior to October 1, 2011.
 
Projected Future City Council Action
The City Charter provides that the Council shall adopt its annual budget by ordinance on one reading; therefore, no additional action will be required if the ordinance is approved at this meeting.
 
Fiscal Impact
The fiscal impact is detailed in the FY 2011-2012 Proposed Budget which is attached.
 
Staff Recommendation
Conduct the public hearing and approve the proposed budget ordinance.
