Title
Approving a professional services agreement with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture (BRS) in the amount of $157,738 for professional services associated with a master plan study for the historic elevated tank park site (Old Town Park), and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
The proposed professional services agreement with Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture (BRS) is to create a master plan for the property at 200 W. Hoopes, known as the historic elevated tank park site and Old Town Park. The property consists of two properties, with the southern tract containing the recently decommissioned historic water tank site and the northern tract containing Old Town Park. The master plan is intended to establish a new vision for the combined property to establish a park that is available for use by Old Town residents and city wide residents alike. Elements that are anticipated for the park design include education, history, culture, food, multi-generational gathering, inclusivity and play. The proposed request is for the design/survey phase of the park, with preliminary engineering report and construction anticipated following an approved plan. The historic elevated tank park site was included in the five year capital improvement plan as project number PA2401 with design/survey funding identified in 2024.
