Summary
Mallard Pond Playground replacement is a part of the Mallard Pond/ Murchison Park 2020 Bond Improvement Program. This expenditure will be purchased utilizing BuyBoard contract # 679-22. The playground improvement includes a new playground, shade and ADA safety surfacing.
The Mallard Pond Playground is currently 20 years old and was installed in 2004. This replacement, along with the others scheduled for this year, will lower the average age of the playgrounds in the City to 4.76 years. This is an improvement from the average age of 11.76 years in 2021.
This playground improvement supports City Council strategic goals to engage the community through vibrant parks and recreation services.
