Summary
From December '23 to January '24, the City conducted a nationwide Call for Artists for the Swenson Farms Blvd underpass. In March 2024, the City contracted with Anna Ganina, an Austin-based muralist, to design an artwork concept for the Swenson Farms Blvd mural project for consideration.
Artist's inspiration for the artwork concept: “to design a mural that seamlessly harmonizes with the dynamic atmosphere of the trail and resonates with the neighborhood's residents. We envisioned artwork that embodies the city's deep love for music and radiates positive energy. In the design concept, "Symphonic Fantasia," a vibrant, dreamscape that transports viewers into an enchanting world of whimsy. Executed in a semi-abstract style to evoke a sense of wonder, this mural features playful characters, musical instruments, and imaginary landscapes-a visual symphony that captures the imagination, especially of children."
