This item has been included on the agenda to approve a workspace lease agreement with Congressman Pete Sessions to lease approximately 500 square feet of cubicle space located within 100 East Main Street Suite 500 to Congressman Pete Sessions to use for office and administrative functions. The lease cubicle spaced will be located within Suite 500 of City Hall, where the Communications department for the City resides. Congressman Pete Sessions or his Congressional staff may use the space for duties and responsibilities of a member of the United States Congress including, meeting with constituents, reviewing, researching, and discussion of legislative and policy matter, interacting with the media, general administrative matters, and preparing press releases.
The terms of lease begin November 1, 2024 and terminated on January 1, 2025. Should Congressman Sessions ("tenant") be reelected to the office of the United States Representatives 17th District, the lease automatically renews on January 4, 2025 and ends on January 5, 2026. The tenant agrees to a monthly rent to the City of $220.00, totaling $5,280 by the term of the lease (should the lease end on January 5, 2026). The term of the lease may be renewed for two twelve-month terms, with a monthly rent of $50.
