Title
Approving a credit change order in the amount of $284,905.10 for to the construction contract for Murchison Park project with G. Creek Construction Company, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

Summary
This item requests approval of credit change order No. 1 in the amount of $284,905.10 for the Murchison Park Project (CIP# PA2009 Murchison Park), with no additional days added to the contract schedule.

This change shifts the purchasing responsibility for select shade structures and playground equipment from the contractor to the City's project team. This change will credit the amount back to the city off the original contract and allow the city to use one of our current venders without the middle management mark-up by the construction vendor. By doing so, the City can purchase larger shade structures and playground components that align with our current playground standards, better serving our community and staying within our current standards. The playground will be placed along Tranquility Lane between the current Splash Pad and Dog Park.

The Murchison Park Project is part of the 2020 Parks Bond Improvement Program and further develops an area with amenities originally constructed in 2004. Now 20 years old, the area is receiving enhancements including expanded and improved trails, site furnishings such as benches, water fountains, and picnic tables, overlook locations, and landscape improvements.

This credit change supports the City's goal of maximizing community benefit while staying within project scope and timeline.

The project aligns with the Infrastructure and Services pillar of the City’s Strategic Plan, advancing efforts to enhance community amenities and recreational spaces.
