Summary
The City of Pflugerville has retained Focused Advocacy in support of Pflugerville's Legislative Agenda and general state government advocacy efforts since 2012. These services were discontinued at the end of FY19 due to a lack of appropriation of funds to continue the contract in FY20. In July 2020, Council approved a proposal and authorized the City Manger to execute the final agreement.
A 25-month agreement was executed for October 1, 2020 thru September 30, 2022 to align with the City's budget and fiscal year. A 24-month agreement was executed for October 1, 2022 thru September 30, 2024 is set to end September 30, 2024.
The new agreement amends the existing terms by clarifying expectations and service levels and includes revisions to the conflict of interest clause. The new agreement is set to end June 30, 2024 at the end of the 89th Regular Legislative Session. The monthly cost for this 9-month agreement is $8,683.33, bringing the total agreement to $78,149.97.
Prior City Council Action
July 14, 2020 - City Council approved a proposal for legislative advocacy services from Focused Advocacy and authorized the City Manger to execute the final agreement.
September 27, 2022 - City Council approved a 24-month agreement for legislative advocacy services from Focused Advocacy and authorized the City Manager to execute the same.
