Summary
Request approval of a Professional Services Agreement with Miller Gray LLC, in the amount of $249,562 for preliminary engineering to support the Upper New Sweden Wastewater Interceptor Project (WW2501). The project includes the installation of approximately 12,000 linear feet of 36-inch wastewater interceptor to support growth and development within the Upper Cottonwood West Basin and to enable the decommissioning of the Cele Lift Station.
The preliminary engineering study will evaluate floodplain constraints, access for operation and maintenance with evaluation of multiple routes and recommendation of pipe materials. Also included is confirmation of wastewater flows at buildout with verification of pipe size and hydraulics. Environmental services will include a desktop review of environmental constraints with evaluation and assess potential impacts to protected ecological and cultural resources along the proposed route. Other tasks includes a risk matrix, Geotech investigation, recommended techniques for pipe installation and complete a preliminary engineering report. Services are budgeted through Utility Impact Fee fund.
This project provides wastewater conveyance for the eastern service area provides for future development and supports the Residential and Node Development and Business Development Pillars of the Strategic Plan.
The 2.34-mile interceptor line will extend from a point approximately 0.44 mile south-southeast of the Cele Road intersection. The interceptor will serve an estimated 4,556 Living Unit Equivalents. The preliminary engineering design and route analysis are anticipated to take approximately 270 days to complete.
