Approving a resolution approving the Pflugerville Connect Transit Development Plan.
Summary
The Transit Development Plan is a study that identifies the transit needs of the community and offer options for implementation within a three year window. The plan is developed in partnership with CapMetro and adoption will allow the City to access Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds for public transportation projects. The plan was last updated in 2018 and as a result, the City and CapMetro partnered with the creation of the on-demand Pickup pilot program which operated until September 2022. Following the Pickup pilot program, the City partnered with TRIPPP Consulting to implement the Pfetch a Ride program in October 2022 to provide transit options to the community through Uber and Maruti. The proposed Transit Development Plan identifies suggestions for maintaining the Pfetch a Ride Program while offering additional options which could include additional partnerships to provide additional transit options to the community.
Prior City Council:
The City Council held a worksession on September 12, 2023 to discuss the proposed Transit Development Plan.
The City Council approved the last Transit Development Plan in August 2018.
The City Council received a briefing on the draft plan and addendum at the July 24, 2018 meeting.
The City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Capital Metro in October 2015 for creation of the 3 year TDP.
The City Council approved a Project Grant Agreement (PGA) with Capital Metro regarding the use of 5307 funds for the Pflugerville Transit Development Program (TDP) in January 2015.
