Approving the procurement of a dump truck in the amount of $145,000, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
As part of the FY2026 budget, a dump truck was budgeted to support the new Wilbarger Wastewater Treatment Facility to allow for material to be transported both inside and outside of the facility as part of the normal wastewater treatment process. This vehicle allows for the transportation of wastewater biosolids as needed after they have completed the full dewatering process similar to the Central Wastewater Treatment Facility.
This equipment was specified to meet the same requirements as the existing dump trucks at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant given the similar conditions they operate within. The equipment was also specified to be the same manufacturer to ensure ease of staff operational training in the event operations staff cross-train at both wastewater treatment facility which ensures that coverage can be maintained across both facilities.
This proposal for this piece of heavy equipment came in at the budgeted amount that was outlined in the FY2026 budget.
This item is supported by the Residential and Node Development and Economic and Business Development pillars of the Strategic Plan by ensuring continued robust operation of the City’s infrastructure systems to support the ability to foster these pillars of the Strategic Plan.
