Summary
The procurement of air-cooled HVAC units is necessary to preserve the integrity of the electrical components at each of the three electrical buildings at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Central Wastewater Treatment Plant currently has water-cooled HVAC units installed at all three electrical buildings. The units are presently out of service due to the insulated chiller lines freezing and cracking. Despite these units only being in use for three years they have repeatedly been out of service, requiring supplemental equipment be used (fans and small portable ac units). Doors have remained open to aid in cooling the electrical buildings causing dust to accumulate in the electoral gear cabinets causing a serious fire hazard. To date we have spent $79,720.86 to repair the water-cooled HVAC units and portable AC units are being rented to limit further impact from external materials.
