Summary
The Manville Water Supply Corporation is currently accepting candidate applications in their election for Directors to represent Zone 1, Zone 5, and Zone 9. In order to be eligible to serve as a Director, candidates are required to be a member of the Manville Water Supply Corporation and to reside and receive water within the specific zone they are to represent. The City of Pflugerville has citizens that are both direct and indirect customers of the Manville Water Supply Corporation and therefore has an interest in its operations and insured delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to its customers. The City of Pflugerville is also a direct customer and a member of the Manville Water Supply Corporation with the authority to cast one ballot in the election for the Manville Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors and the authority to offer one candidate in the election for the Manville Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors.
Mr. Wade, City Manager, is a resident of Manville Zone 5 and a resident of the Manville Water Supply CCN and therefore eligible to serve as a Director. Mr. Wade holds a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and is a licensed professional engineer with many years' experience with public utilities on water infrastructure, delivery and planning. The City of Pflugerville believes that Mr. Wade would serve the Manville Water Supply Corporation Board well by providing expertise and professional advice and finds it appropriate that Mr. Wade serve as the City of Pflugerville's representative on the Manville Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors for Zone 5. Please find the attached resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager, Mr. Wade, to file as a candidate for Zone 5 in the election for the Manville Water Supply Corporation Board of Directors to serve as a representative of the City of Pflugerville.
Candidate information from the Manville Water Supply Corporation website is attached. It states that the entire membership of the Manville Water Supply Corporation will vote to elect the Directors for the available zones and that an "Official Ballot" will be mailed to all members in March 2013, with results of the election announced at the Manville Annual Meeting scheduled for April 30, 2013.
