Approving the selection of Fugro Roadware Inc. for professional engineering services associated with the City of Pflugerville Pavement Evaluation and Assessment project and authorizing the City Manager to enter into negotiations regarding a scope of work and fee proposal.
Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from engineering firms to perform an automated pavement evaluation, assessment and report for all roadways within the City of Pflugerville jurisdiction (439 lane miles).
The project will include a City wide automated pavement distress survey focusing and documenting all existing cracking, pavement undulation and minor failures through imagery recording. From the gathered data, each street will be scored based on an index to allow for future street maintenance planning as well as budgeting, identifying rehabilitation projects and future capital improvement projects as necessary. The overall data information will be incorporated into the City GIS for tracking and provide information such as surface lengths, classifications, pavement conditions, cracking, repair method used, date of repairs, as other information deemed necessary.
Status
City staff received six (6) proposals. A review team of Engineering and Public Works staff reviewed and scored the proposals. Fugro Roadware Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm for this project. A copy of the scoring matrix is attached to this agenda item.
Projected Future City Council Action
A future agenda item will be scheduled to approve the contract for the project. Staff anticipates negotiations to take place in the next few weeks.
Fiscal Impact
This project was funded in the Fiscal Year 2015 budget in the Street Department operating budget.
