Summary
The Communications Department recommends the Civic Plus website platform for citywide web communications. Through an extensive request for proposal (RFP) process and evaluation of web vendors, Civic Plus can provide the City a website with user-friendly design, mobile compatibility, security and scalability for the City of Pflugerville. The new website and platform will include a comprehensive archive system and fully responsive content. Civic Plus is a leader in the government website design space with award-winning websites from both the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers and City County Communications and Marketing Association (including all winners of TAMIO 2023 and several 3CMA National Website Awards).
There were nine vendors that submitted and were reviewed by the Communications Department. Vendors were reviewed based on experience and background, portfolio, project approach and timeline, navigation development and analysis, content migration services, customer service provided, government website experience and price.
The City of Pflugerville’s web presence includes the City’s website (pflugervilletx.gov) and sub-sites for the Police Department, Parks and Recreation, Utility Billing and the Public Library. The new site will include a subsite for Public Works. The City of Pflugerville’s last website redesign and redevelopment was in 2015. In the time since then, the web platform and support back-end technologies, integrations, and responsiveness have not remained in-line with contemporary standards, frameworks, the needs of our residents, nor the needs of staff and internal-stakeholders.
