Summary
The proposed professional services agreement with LJA Engineering Inc. (LJA) in the amount of $80,000 will provide general professional engineering services support for the CIP Engineering and Public Works Operations Departments associated with a broad range of activities for various capital improvement projects and traffic engineering and operations support. This item supports the infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan, to build and improve the City’s infrastructure to meet current and future needs.
The professional services contract will include: general professional engineering assistance for a wide range of projects to provide solutions on an accelerated schedule, including: plan review assistance, development of additional design criteria, codes, standards and ordinance improvements and review, assistance with traffic signal issue resolution, traffic signal operations, programming, sequencing and timing plans, review of citizen initiated safety concerns, planning level investigations, scoping and rough order of magnitude cost estimating for future year capital projects, and troubleshooting assistance related to traffic and drainage concerns.
The work covered by this contract is to be issued by Task order authorization. Each authorization will include a scope and fee associated with the work and if related to a capital project, the costs will be attributed to that capital project, or if general in scope, to be funded from the operational budget of either CIP Engineering or Public Works Operations.
