Title

Approving an ordinance on second reading with the caption reading: An ordinance of the City of Pflugerville, Texas granting the use of City property by easement totaling approximately 0.313 acres (13,654 square foot) of land out of the E. Kirkland Survey No. 7 in Travis County, Texas; being a portion of said 34.728 acre tract of land described in warranty deed to the City of Pflugerville, Texas recorded in Document No. 2003032161 of the real property records of Travis County, Texas; Providing cumulative, repealer and severability clauses; providing for open meeting and establishing an effective date.

Summary

As part of the Surface Water Treatment Plant Expansion project, the construction calls for primary electric feeders to power the Lake Pump Station to be constructed from the southern portion of the Pflugerville Parkway Right-Of-Way (ROW) and extend to a primary voltage transformer to power the the additional loads being constructed at the Lake Pump Station along the Lake Pflugerville Dam.

This easement will allow for Oncor to route primary electrical duct banks underground across the Lake Pflugerville Dam to terminate at the Lake Pump Station’s primary transformer pad before being distributed throughout into the expanded facility.  This easement required significant coordination with both the design engineer (Ardurra), the general contractor (PLW Waterworks), and the City to ensure that there would not be any conflicts on the path and it would be clear of other existing wet and dry utilities that are installed along the Weiss Lane frontage.

This easement will follow the City’s Strategic Goal of Infrastructure as it will allow the City to continue to push forward on the Surface Water Treatment Plant Expansion project to provide sufficient water treatment capacity to the City of Pflugerville by providing necessary primary power from the City’s electric provider to the raw water pump station that serves the facility.
