Title

Presentations and discussion regarding the Mansions at Stone Hill Park Project and the Highland Park/Highland Park North Park Project.

Summary

This item has been included on the Council agenda as an opportunity for the City Council and the public to provide input on the Mansions at Stone Hill Park and Highland Park/Highland Park North park projects.

Status

Two of the park projects that were included in the November 2014 Bond Election are the Mansions at Stone Hill Park Project and Highland Park/Highland Park North Park Project.  These two parks were previously master planned as part of the Trails Master Plan & Undeveloped Parks Study that was completed by RVi in July of 2014.

The City engaged MWM DesignGroup for the design of the Mansions at Stone Hill Park Project and Studio 16:19 for the design of the Highland Park/Highland Park North Project.  Each firm's initial Scope of Work was to provide a Preliminary Design Report (PDR) that looks at the project sites to identify opportunities and constraints (environmental, historical, cultural, etc), evaluates the previously completed Master Plans to fully vet the proposed amenities and provides updated preliminary designs and cost estimates.

Each project's consultant will be present to discuss the reports and associated refined design concepts.  Staff is requesting feedback on the reports from the Council.  There is an associated public hearing agenda item on the regular meeting agenda to receive public input.  The regular meeting also includes an item approving a supplemental agreement with MWM to proceed with the design and construction administration for the Mansions at Stone Hill Park.

The same presentation and discussion and an associated public hearing was held at the Parks & Recreation Commission's November 19, 2015 meeting.

Deadline for Action
