Summary
The Secondary Colorado River Raw Water Pipeline project requires approximately 15 miles of new easements for construction of the proposed 42-inch water transmission pipeline. Travis County requires that all trees 8-inches and larger removed within the Northeast Metropolitan Park be replaced by paying mitigation fee.
No Heritage trees are being removed as part of the project. Heritage trees along pipeline are being tunneled at cost of approximately $2,100 per foot.
Removal of trees is needed for construction and maintenance of the pipeline.
Mitigation for 302 inches of trees at $200 per Inch
The total mitigation fees owed to Travis County are $60,400 for tree removal along the raw water pipeline in the Northeast Metropolitan Park. The City requested a waiver to Travis County for the tree mitigation fee. The County Commissioners Court on June 25, 2024, rejected the waiving of the mitigation fee. The County stated this would set a precedent for other Cities.

Pflugerville City Council approved Supplemental Services Agreement #4 for Professional Services in the amount of $1,982,815 for Construction Phase Services to the Agreement .
Pflugerville City Council approved Supplemental Services Agreement #5 for Professional Services in the amount of $223,306 for Environmental Services to the Agreement .
