Summary

On June 14, 2016, the Pflugerville City Council approved the 1849 Park Master Plan, which proposed a phased approach for the development of the sports complex and park. Construction of Phase 2 of 1849 Park started in late October 2024 and includes the construction of baseball fields and support buildings (e.g., concessions, restrooms). Both Phase 1B and Phase 2 are expected to be completed by the late summer 2025.

Staff conducted a competitive sealed proposal bidding process and received six competitive sealed proposals for construction services associated with the 1849 Park Phase 1B project. Based on the results of the evaluation of the proposals, staff is recommending City Council approve a construction contract with Joe Bland Construction in the amount of $2,793,854.00.  The proposed construction duration for Phase 1B is anticipated to be approximately 8 months.
