Title
Approving an agreement with Architecture Plus, Inc. in the amount of $73,800 for Phase 1 professional services associated with developing a facilities master plan for the Public Works Complex at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant; and developing plans for a Public Works and Parks and Recreation field operations building to house maintenance staff.
 
Summary
This project will develop a facilities master plan for the Public Works Complex to include facilities, materials storage and handling, parking and expansion of the current Wastewater Treatment Plant.  The master plan will take into account the City's needs for the next 20 years.
The project will include the design for site improvements, architectural and structural design of a new (approximately 8,000 square foot) Public Works Field Operations and Maintenance building that includes ADA compliance. This building will house all Public Works and Parks and Recreation field crews and foremen.
Preparation of the final architectural and engineering construction documents shall include but not be limited to: project design; sketch, preliminary and final architect's opinion of probable construction cost; project manual and any other items necessary to successfully construct this project.
This project will be designed in accordance with the City of Pflugerville's 2011 Edition of the Uniform Development Code and May 2005 Edition of the Engineering Design Guidelines & Construction Standards.
The attached agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Status
City staff has negotiated with Architecture Plus, Inc. to establish a schedule and fee for the project. Architecture Plus, Inc. was selected as the most qualified firm for this project.  The City Council approved staff to begin negotiations with Architecture Plus, Inc. on June 10, 2014.
 
Fiscal Impact
This project will be funded from the fiscal year 2015 Utility Operating Budget, Utility Administration Other Professional Fees.
 
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of the agreement.
