Summary
The City of Pflugerville solicited requests for qualifications from design firms for services associated with the 2020 Parks Bond Program for the design and programming of the Multi-Generational Recreation Center. City staff received nine statements of qualifications (SOQs) which were reviewed, scored and ranked. The top four firms were interviewed to determine top recommended firm. Staff recommends the selection of FGM Architects, Inc. for professional services. The project includes programming, planning and design services of the Multi-Generational Recreation Center.
Phase One will determine the project concept including facility size, program of a new multi generational recreation center, estimation of the total project cost, project schedule, pro forma, and examine best uses of the site for input on public private partnership (P3) possibilities. This phase is anticipated to be completed by November 2022 in order to prepare for the next phase. Phase two will include full design services including construction administration.
Approval for the design and construction of the project was provided as one of the voter-approved 2020 General Obligation Parks Bond projects.
Prior City Council Action
Pflugerville City Council called a November 3, 2020 bond election for three propositions totaling $191.3 million at the August 11, 2020 meeting.
December 14, 2021 City Council meeting, approval of the selection of ECM International, Inc as an Owner’s Representative (OR) associated with the Multi-Generational and City Hall project.
February 8, 2022 Council meeting, approval of the Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $135,440 with ECM International, Inc as an Owner’s Representative (OR) associated with the Multi-Generational Recreation Center project.
