Title
Approving a professional services agreement with HR Green, Inc. in the amount of $270,600 for design and bid phase services associated with the Boulder Ridge Lift Station Rehabilitation Improvements Project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary
The existing Boulder Ridge Lift Station has insufficient firm pumping capacity to meet existing peak flows, and the lift station has other observed rehabilitation needs. The lift station is 30+ years old and cannot be taken out of service due to the service area needs to convey continuous flows to the wastewater treatment plant. Conceptually, City Staff identified possible rehabilitation needs and need for additional storage volume and pump improvements. The existing concrete surface slab which surrounds the wet well and valve vault has experienced significant settlement and deterioration and requires investigation prior to reconstruction. Other Staff concerns include the integrity of the structural components for the existing wet well, which requires structural evaluation. The lift station experiences power outages and an evaluation of the existing on-site emergency back up generator is required to verify the appropriate sizing for the lift station and any additional electrical components. The Boulder Ridge Lift Station Expansion is a recommendation from the 2020 Master Plan. This project supports the Safety, Infrastructure and Services Pillars of the Strategic Plan and Comprehensive Plan by providing a safe, resilient infrastructure for our citizens.
