Conduct a Visioning Workshop and Presentation on the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan.
Summary
Berry Dunn, consultants for the Master Plan, will lead a workshop that will conclude with recommendations and priorities for the implementation strategies and action plan.
The 10-year Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan will guide future additions and enhancements to the parks, trails, athletic fields, programs and aquatic and recreation facilities. This plan will help Pflugerville continue to be one of the best places to live in America, reflecting the needs and desires of the community.
March 8, 2022, Contract Approved / Berry Dunn Selected, City Council approved the selection of BerryDunn for professional engineering services associated with the Parks, Recreation, Facilities and Open Space Strategic Master Plan.
July 21, 2022, Project Kickoff, a joint work session with the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Parks and Recreation Commission and Berry Dunn to work through an engagement exercise for feedback on the Master Plan process.
July - October 2022 Community Engagement, the master plan team offered numerous opportunities for Pflugerville residents express what they want to see in parks, recreation facilities and open spaces in the next ten years. Engagement included in-person events and an online presence with digital ideas wall, an interactive map and community-wide survey.
November 2022 - February 2023 Data Collection and Analysis. This phase involves collecting data for park, facility, aquatics, and open space inventory. Berry Dunn evaluated levels of service, recreation programs, budget, staffing, needs and operations.
May - June 2023 - Visioning Workshop Series with City Council, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission, PCDC and staff members.
July 2023 - Presentation of the draft plan will be presented for final approval.
