Title

Discuss and consider action to approve a Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) Community Engagement Grant (CEG) not to exceed $300,000.00, for the purpose of reimbursing Pflugerville Area Youth Baseball and Softball (PAYBAS) for essential repairs and upgrades to improve the Pflugerville ISD youth baseball and softball fields located at 701 Immanuel Road, and authorizing the PCDC Executive Director to execute the same.

Summary

Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC) Community Engagement Grant (CEG) was created to provide funding for projects that further the PCDC's mission of economic development by enhancing the overall quality of life and community assets in Pflugerville. The PAYBAS renovation project focuses on essential repairs and upgrades to improve the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the youth baseball and softball fields located at 701 Immanuel Rd.

The scope of work includes reinforcing and repairing perimeter fencing to ensure player and spectator safety, leveling and filling holes in the outfield to prevent injuries, and addressing general field maintenance.  This involves repainting dugouts, replacing damaged signage, and clearing debris throughout the facility. Where feasible, the goal is to install scoreboards and repair or replace broken field lights to enhance game-day experiences.

The improvements are essential to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the hundreds of youth athletes and families in this community.  Investing in these upgrades ensures the safety and functionality of the fields, fosters community pride, and encourages long-term participation in youth sports. The PCDC Board requested that Ms. Dockter would provide documentation from the PFISD Superintendent or his designee before moving forward with this project. The PCDC Executive Director has received the necessary document and remains in contact with the Superintendent to provide any future updates regarding the site and project. Although the site is leased to the PAYBAS, it is owned by the Pflugerville ISD.
