Title

Approving a Professional Service Supplemental Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $108,975 for professional services associated with the Colorado Sand Drive project, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

Summary

The professional services supplemental amendment being considered provides for a continuation of professional services beyond the design phase for  work efforts during the bid and construction phases of the project. This agenda item supports the Infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan.

In April 2019, City Council approved selection of Kimley-Horn and Associates to provide professional engineering services for the Colorado Sand Drive Project, from Copper Mine Drive to the existing Colorado Sand Drive terminus north of Lone Star Ranch Boulevard. The current scope of the contract includes the design of the extension of the roadway, pavement, storm sewer, water line, intersection improvements including a roundabout, pedestrian and bicycle improvements, the Hendrickson High circulation route modifications, and roadway illumination.

The design engineering phase of work is now nearing completion with the final submittal in review. The  engineer’s scope of work included in this supplemental agreement includes the services during the bid phase to provide clarifications, evaluate the bid proposals and make recommendation for construction contract award, and construction administration phase services, which include attendance at construction progress meetings,  review of submittals and clarification of request for information and change orders or changes due to unforeseen field circumstances,  and the  accessibility review and construction materials testing for the project.
