Approving a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Post-Annexation Provision of Services Agreement, providing that upon annexation the City will provide standard City services to a tract of land totaling 82.962 acre of land being 80.218-acres out of the G.B. Zimplemann and J.V. Bergen Survey No. 285 Abstract No. 2370 and Thomas Hancock Survey No.20, Abstract No. 392, being a portion of Steger Lane and 2.681 acres out of the Andrew Austin Survey No.19, Abstract 38, out of the G.B.Zimplemann and J.V. Bergen Survey No. 285, Abstract No.2370, being a portion of Cameron Road, Travis County, Texas within the City’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. The property is generally located at 17716 Steger Lane to be known as the 17716 Steger Lane Annexation (ANX2024-00209).
...Summary
Chapter 43, Subchapter C-3 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes municipalities to annex property on the request of all property owners in an area. However, pursuant to Texas Local Government Code Section 43.0672, the City must first negotiate and enter into a written agreement with the owners of land in the area for the provision of City services. The attached agreement satisfies this requirement and includes a list of each service the City will provide on the effective date of the annexation and a schedule that includes the period within which the City will provide each service that is not provided on the effective date of the annexation. The attached agreement will be effective upon the City’s adoption of an ordinance annexing the area.
The proposed annexation consists of approximately 82.962 acres located at 17716 Steger Lane within the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction. The subject property is contiguous to properties within the City limits and therefore is eligible for voluntary annexation in accordance with state law. The area is unimproved and therefore does not incur maintenance/operations expenses at this time.
City Attorney has approved the resolution as to form.

Action is requested on January 14, 2025 pursuant to the proposed annexation schedule.
Future City Council Action
Pursuant to Chapter 43.1055 of Texas Local Government Code, if a municipality wants to annex a roadway, the annexation must be authorized by the County’s Commissioners Court. This item is scheduled to be placed on the January 28, 2025 Travis County Commissioners Court Agenda.
Conduct a public hearing and consider approval on first reading of the annexation ordinance on February 11, 2025.
Consider approval on second reading of the annexation ordinance on February 25, 2025.
