Summary
The professional services supplemental amendment being considered provides for a continuation of professional services during and beyond the preliminary design phase for work efforts during the preliminary, design and bid phases of the project. This item supports the infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan.
In August 2022, City Council approved selection of Walker Partners, LLC to provide professional engineering services for the State Highway (SH) 130 Waterline Project to improve reliability of existing infrastructure and meet future water needs. Following the initial Professional Services Agreement, the proposed pipeline route was adjusted to accommodate interconnection to the SH 45 water line improvements resulting in additional length, street crossings and private property negotiations.
Walker Partners LLC is performing preliminary design services including alignment evaluations, selection and developing a Technical Memorandum; alignment confirmation and development of a Preliminary Engineering Report for utilization in design development; preparing Design and Bidding Documents; and providing Bid Phase support. Supplemental Services if authorized may include development of engineering feasibility report and environmental documents required by funding agencies.
The engineer’s scope of work includes selection of the final alignment and Bid Documents and includes bid phase services to provide clarifications, evaluate the bid proposals and make recommendation for construction contract award.
