Approve the appointment of Mr. James Hemenes as Parks and Recreation Director.
Summary
Section 4.06 of the City Charter specifies that the City Manager shall appoint the head of each administrative department, subject to the approval of the City Council. The City Manager has recommended the appointment of Mr. Hemenes as Parks and Recreation Director.
The City did a nationwide search to select from a highly qualified group of candidates. Following interviews that involved staff, members of the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Commission, Mr. Hemenes was the unanimous recommendation for this position. He is currently employed at the City of Cedar Park as an Assistant Parks Director. Additional information on Mr. Hemenes will be available on the dais.
