Presentation regarding the Reclaimed Water Feasibility Study.
Summary
The Reclaimed Water Feasibility Study presentation will communicate the study objectives, key findings and recommendations to the City for reclaimed water system next steps. Following evaluation of the City’s current water users, anticipated development, future water and wastewater projections, and review of reclaimed water alternatives, it is recommended to move forward with solicitation of a Request for Qualification (RFQ) for Engineering Services to assess indirect potable reuse from the Wilbarger Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility to supplement the City’s water supply.
Recommendations for the City’s reclaimed water system supports Pflugerville’s Strategic Goals for economic development, infrastructure, and services by:
• Diversification of water conservation strategies that are beneficial for community growth and maintain a high quality of lie.
• Supplementing existing water supply to enhance water security and meet the challenges of a growing water population.
