Presentation of the Texas Economic Development Council's Economic Excellence Award to the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation (PCDC).
Summary
The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) is a statewide, non-profit professional organization dedicated to the development of economic and employment opportunities. The TEDC recognizes local economic development programs in Texas each year for strengthening the knowledge and skills of economic development professionals and local volunteers. Recipients of the 2014 Economic Excellence Award were recognized at the 2015 TEDC Mid-Year Conference on June 4, 2015 in Galveston, Texas. The Pflugerville Community Development Corporation is one of 26 recipients from across the state, out of over 500 potential organizations. This is the first year the Pflugerville Community Development Corporation has received the award.
To achieve the designation, staff members must have economic development certifications, participate in economic development organizations, maintain strategic planning programs and other special plans or studies adopted or updated on an annual basis. Volunteers are evaluated based on sales tax training, open meetings seminars and other qualified training.
