Summary
This agenda item requests approval to award a construction contract with C.C. Carlton, LTD, in the amount of $3,725,606 associated with the Cottonwood West Lift Station project. This item supports the Infrastructure pillar of the Strategic Plan.
The Cottonwood West Lift Station project includes the installation of wastewater lift station facility that will serve the Meadowlark Development along Cameron Road and the future East Pflugerville Parkway development as well as the regional sub-basin within the Cottonwood wastewater basin. In order to synchronize the project schedule with the Meadowlark Development, this project has been split into two bid packages with the lift station being the initial package given the construction timeline and with the force main coming later with the easement acquisition being finalized currently. This lift station package includes a polymer concrete wet well structure, submersible pumps with associated switchgear, emergency generator package, and the access drive. It is preferred to limit the use of lift stations, however, within the Cottonwood wastewater basin this lift station will be necessary to serve the developing areas in the eastern portions of the City’s Wastewater CCN until ultimate build out when a third wastewater treatment plant is constructed. City staff has been very selective and thoughtful about lift stations locations to minimize the number of installations as much as possible within the basin.
Competitive Sealed Proposal was the utilized method of project delivery and advertisement for the project began on October 2, 2024. The City received and opened proposals on November 6, 2024.
