Title
Approving a professional services supplemental agreement with DCS Engineering, LLC to amend the original agreement's scope of services, timeline and fee, for an additional cost of $7,420.

Summary
This project will improve the City's water transmission capacity and reliability so that we can better serve our water customers in the western part of Pflugerville. The project involves constructing approximately 2,415 feet of 16" water main along Pfennig Lane from Rocky Creek to Railroad, approximately 4,415 feet of 16" water main along Pflugerville Parkway to the Pfennig Booster Pump Station, and replacing approximately 950 feet of 12" asbestos concrete pipe (ACP) along Pfennig Lane with 16" diameter pipe.

The attached agreement has been reviewed and approved as to form by the City Attorney.

Status
The change in the original scope is related to the replacement of 12" ACP along Pfennig Lane. A new 16" water line will be constructed along the north side of Pfennig Lane instead of pipe bursting the existing 12" line on the south side of the roadway, as provided in the original scope.  Conditions found during preliminary engineering are not suitable for the pipe bursting method.

The original agreement was approved by the City Council on September 24, 2013 for $193,421.50. The amount for the additional scope of work will be $7,420. The total agreement costs will be $200,661.50.

Fiscal Impact
This project is included in the fiscal year 2014 Utility capital improvement plan and will be funded with unspent bond funds in the Utility Fund.

Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of the agreement.
