Discuss and consider action approving the Pflugerville Community Development Comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Plan - CEDS 3.0.
Summary
The PCDC engaged with Ernst & Young LLP consultants in July 2023 to create a three-year economic development strategic plan for the City of Pflugerville. The consultants met with a 14-member steering committee over the last six months and conducted interviews with residents, businesses, economic development partners, developers, real estate professionals, and other stakeholders. They have conducted a SWOT analysis, Location Quotient Study, Workforce Education analysis, Target Industry Analysis, Comparative City Study, data analysis and interviewed PCDC Board and City Council in workshops and regular meetings as part of the preparation for the final strategy for the community. The consultants have met or exceeded all requirements of the contract to perform a comprehensive economic development strategic plan. The consultant provided a presentation and discussion on the goals and priorities of the plan during the February 13 City Council Workshop and the City Council Regular Meeting. The City Council directed EY to revise the document to include a brief executive summary and to incorporate comments and changes presented by City Council and City Staff.
