Summary
The City Charter section 11.08 states that the city council shall have the authority to compromise and settle any and all claims and suits in favor of or against the city, except suits by the city to recover delinquent taxes. The Finance Department with counsel of the City Attorney brings forward the attached settlement and release agreement to relieve the City of Pflugerville from any and all future liability derived from this incident. The incident was related to the damaged vehicle property of Michael L. McCall. City staff submitted the claim to our insurance provider Texas Municipal League. The Texas Municipal League's investigation found the vehicle to be totaled.
Mr.Michael L. McCall accepted check issued by Texas Municipal League, in the amount of Three Thousand Seven Hundred Ten Dollars and Ninety One Cents ($3,710.91); but requested an additional amount of compensation of Four Thousand One Hundred and Forty One Dollars and 0/100 Cents ($4,141.00) requesting that the vehicle be brought back to the condition it was prior to the accident.
