Title
Approving a professional services supplemental agreement with Marmon Mok for the Public Works Complex project, in the amount of $373,082, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.
Summary

There are a significant amount of foundation piers, concrete, and building envelope inspections and materials testing that is required as part of the construction of the buildings. These inspections and testing are done via an outside 3rd party testing laboratory to ensure that the material used for construction meets the specifications set forth in the project and to minimize sub-par material being used on-site.
The original Professional Services Agreement with Marmon Mok did not include materials testing as a scope could not be determined until more preliminary design work was completed such as geotechnical bores and soil samples. While the Professional Services Agreement covered the majority of the scope, this was purposefully left out until that preliminary engineering could be completed and the Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR) was under contract in the event design modifications occurred during preconstruction.
Under this amendment, Marmon Mok will be responsible for conducting all construction materials testing during the construction of the facilities and perform specialty inspections for the pier foundations of all structures. This additional scope will facilitate all construction materials to be tested to ensure they meet the project specifications while also allowing Marmon Mok to facilitate coordination and review efficiently of test results in the case where a substitution or correction needs to be made.
This amendment to Marmon Mok’s Professional Services Agreement meets the City Strategic Goal of Infrastructure by ensuring that the facilities that th...
