Summary
City staff has been evaluating the options for providing security for the city facilities.  All buildings in the City Hall complex, Pflugerville Public Library, and  the Pflugerville Recreation Center will have access systems and intrusion alarms with monitoring.  The water and wastewater facilities will have access controls on the gate entrances and the building entrances.  Tyco Integrated Security is the number one security company in the United States with a local monitoring operation.  Staff has checked references from other municipalities.  Since the City is using a cooperative purchasing contract, the CIty's purchase order and accompanying documents will constitute the required documentation for the purchase.  The cost of $54,757.31 for the equipment and $39,718.76 for the monitoring and maintenance warrants City Council approval.
