Title
Approving the purchase of trail and accessibility improvements along the Mountain Creek Trail, located behind Ambrose Dr., by Fun Abounds, Inc. in the amount of $283,856, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

Summary
This item is for the approval of trail improvements funded through the Annual Trail Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The project includes the replacement of existing decomposed granite trail segments with approximately 22,000 square feet of new concrete surfacing along Mountain Creek Trail, significantly improving long-term durability, reducing maintenance needs, and enhancing year-round accessibility for all users. The project also includes site excavation and grading in preparation for the new surface.

These improvements align with the City’s Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan adopted by City Council in 2021 and are designed to provide a more inclusive and accessible trail experience for residents and visitors.

Construction will be completed by Fun Abounds, Inc., an approved vendor through the BuyBoard cooperative purchasing program under contract #679-22.

This project supports the City Council’s Strategic Goal to provide safe, vibrant, and accessible parks and trails and is consistent with the recommendations outlined in the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan.

As part of this action, the vendor has signed a City-provided services contract, which is included as an attachment to this item. This updated agreement aligns with City contracting standards while preserving the originally proposed cost. The original estimate, which contains the vendor’s standard language, remains attached for reference but will not be signed and should be used solely for cost estimation purposes.
