Presentation regarding an update on the Gilleland Creek Pool Facility.
Summary
As a Capital Improvements Program (CIP) plan, the Gilleland Creek Pool facility includes new bathrooms, a lifeguard house, pool entrance enhancements, and fencing. Construction of the facility started in 2022. Unfortunately, the selected contractor for the project encountered difficulties and was unable to fulfill their obligations, ultimately filing for bankruptcy. Construction stopped in December 2023 as a result. To safeguard the city's interests in such situations, the contractor had previously posted a surety bond. Staff is actively pursuing the completion of the project through the surety bond process. Estimates from alternative contractors have been obtained, and staff remains optimistic about meeting the goal of completing the necessary work to open the pool for the summer season.

Pflugerville City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with MWM Design Group for Design of Gilleland Creek Bathhouse Improvement totaling $210,392.97 on June 22, 2021.
Pflugerville City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with Wealtz & Prete, Inc in the amount of $65,879.50 for Consultation services on the Gilleland Creek Bathhouse Improvement Project on April 03, 2020.
