Summary
This item has been included on the agenda to allow for discussion and potential action on the item. The City Council is expected to retire to executive session on the item pursuant to Chapter 551.071 of the Texas Government Code for consultation with legal counsel. Action, if any, will be take in open session.

The high service pump station at the Pflugerville water treatment plant was built as part of the same construction contract as the Lake Pflugerville pump station which has experienced the major corrosion problem in the pump cans. Both pump stations were designed by HDR, and both pump stations used the same materials and design for their respective pump cans.

HDR has expressed a concern that the high service pump station could be experiencing the same corrosion problem experienced by the Lake Pflugerville pump station and desires to fund the design and reconstruction of the pump cans in the same manner as was accomplished for the Lake Pflugerville Pump Station
Status
HDR has performed additional investigative work and is prepared to design and replace the high service pump cans at this time.
HDR will design the repairs at their cost, hire Archer Western (the same contractor that repaired the Lake Pflugerville Pump Station), and pay for all construction costs under the terms of this agreement. The costs for the design and construction have been determined to be $860,000.
