Approving a construction contract with G2 Construction Services, Inc. in the amount of $540,000 for Lake Pflugerville Spillway repairs, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the same.

Summary
As part of the FY2025 budget, funding was allocated to make necessary concrete repairs to the Lake Pflugerville spillway after the City completed an evaluation of the dam and the spillway as part of our Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for the dam. The evaluation identified minor crack repairs that needed to be completed for the concrete spillway and concrete spalling repairs that need to be patched to ensure the spillway and dam are maintained in an appropriate manner. While most of these repairs are not structurally concerning, they have the ability to become more widespread and critical if not addressed in a timely manner. The repairs being proposed for this project will allow for the continue operation of the spillway and dam that allows for the City to continue to maintain water levels in Lake Pflugerville while also ensuring that there are no downstream impacts to residents should these cracks become more widespread and critical that could cause dam failures in the future.

The contractor being proposed for this project, G2 Construction Services, Inc has completed previous repairs to the spillway structure that did not include the concrete portion of the dam and they have performed exceptionally on smaller construction projects that the City has tasked them with that have similar scopes to what is being proposed with this project. This project was allocated within the Utility Services - Maintenance and Repair budget and the final cost came in slightly under the budgeted amount of $550,000 to complete these repairs.
