Summary
As part of the City's updated raw water contract with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), the City is required to update our water rights permit that is issued through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to reflect the updated volumes that the City is allowed to divert from the Colorado River. As our original water rights permit only allowed for a maximum of 12,000 acre-feet annually and the new contract allows for 24,000 acre-feet annually, the City would need to update the permit to reflect this new maximum diversion amount.
After consultation with TCEQ regarding the application, it was determined that the governing body of the entity that is submitting the application would need to delegate the authority to their designee in order to complete the application. This resolution would allow for the City Manager or his/her designee to submit the application to TCEQ and update the City's water rights permit.
