Summary
As part of the Manville water main construction along Heatherwilde Blvd earlier this year, the City required submission of a Right of Way permit for the portion of the Manville water main crossing Kingston Lacy. It was a requirement of the City to have Manville encase their water main within a steel casing for the limits of the right of way. This is a practice used by the City for all utilities (including City water and wastewater) when crossing existing roadway sections. During ongoing negotiations with Manville, the City Manager agreed to recommend to the City Council that the City pay for the encasement of the line as a gesture of cooperation and goodwill.

Fiscal Impact
$30,000 to be taken from the Utility Fund unallocated revenues as shown on Attachment A to the ordinance.
Staff Recommendation
Approve the budget amendment allowing for a payment of $30,000 to Manville Water Supply Corporation for encasement of the water main.
