Summary
The Wilbarger Creek Park Project that is currently under construction includes several pieces of play equipment, including various gross and fine motor skill based activities such as climbing, spinning, and balance-based play opportunities.
Wilbarger Creek Park Project Summary: includes development of a portion of the 105-acre undeveloped parkland. This project has been identified as a regional park due to its linear shape and size. While originally comprising of two areas of development identified as the “North Park” and the “Dog Park” areas, at this time the current funding available for construction only supports development of the “North Park” area. The finished park will cater to a diverse range of user groups, create pods of compatible recreational amenities for all age groups, and take advantage of the rich natural resources on site. Located at the corner of Kingston Lacy Blvd. and Craters of the Moon, amenities under construction include but are not limited to the construction of a parking lot, restroom facility, playground elements, outdoor classroom space, practice field, youth veloway, site furnishings, and related park amenities as described in the plans and project manual.

Project funding was approved as part of the November 2014 General Obligation Bond Program, additional funding from the Parkland Dedication Fund will be utilized as well.
