Approving a Professional Services Agreement for City Engineer Services with DCS Engineering in an amount not to exceed $50,500.
Summary
Mr. Darren Strozewski, P.E., President of DCS Engineering, has been employed as the City's Interim City Engineer since June 2011. The purpose of this agreement is to continue this arrangement until the City Engineer position is filled.
Status
The City Engineer position was advertised last fall and staff is in the process of interviewing qualified candidates, which is expected to be completed soon. A budget amendment will be required to fill this position as there were no funds allocated for an city engineer on staff in the fiscal year 2012 budget.

No additional action is anticipated regarding this item.
Fiscal Impact
This item was funded in the FY 2012 budget under Engineering professional services for $100,000. A professional services agreement is currently in place with DCS Engineering for City Engineer Services in the amount of $49,500.
