Title
Presentation recognizing the Pflugerville Police Dispatch staff for their performance during the City of Austin 9-1-1 outage.
Summary
On December 16 around 2:00 p.m. the Combined Transportation Emergency and Communications Center, Austin Police, Travis County Sheriff's Office, Austin Fire and Austin EMS lost 911 communications. Pflugerville was one of several agencies taking calls for other areas across the county through a re-route of calls to the Pflugerville Police Department. There were 146 calls received in a 5 1/2 hour period compared to the department's normal weekday afternoon average of 8 calls. During one peak hour, the department received 34 emergency calls.
Not only were the calls answered, the Pflugerville Dispatch answered 93.8% of the calls within the National Standard response time of 1-10 seconds. This is an outstanding example of above and beyond service to our community and the community around us.
