Title
Awarding the contract for the Pflugerville Parkway East Widening (from FM 685 to SH 130) project to the lowest responsive bidder, RGM Constructors of Texas, LLC from Pflugerville, Texas, in the amount of $2,077,798.37. This project is being funded through certificates of obligation issued in 2009.
Summary
The Pflugerville Parkway East Widening project extends from the intersection of FM 685 and Pflugerville Parkway east approximately 0.43 miles to SH 130 right-of-way (refer to Exhibit A). In order to allow construction to progress efficiently, the entire roadway will be closed between tie-ins at FM 685 and SH 130 (refer to the attached Detour Plan). The Contractor is required to provide 24-hour access at the Oncor Electric driveway (refer to Exhibit A for approximate location), and City staff will coordinate with adjacent/affected property owners. The project improvements include widening Pflugerville Parkway East to a 4-lane divided roadway including grading, bridge structures, storm sewers, hot mix asphalt paving, traffic signal modifications, signing, pavement markings and other work as described in the plans, specifications, and bid documents. Construction is expected to begin on December 5, 2011 with substantial completion anticipated for August 17, 2012 (refer to the attached Project Schedule). The attached “Pflugerville Parkway Widening Tabulation of Bids” includes the base bid values in which the low bidder was RGM Contractors of Texas, LLC. The engineering estimate for this project was $2,470,000.
Status
The project was advertised for bids on September 29, 2011 and October 6, 2011. Ten bids were received and opened on October 25, 2011.
