Title
Discussion regarding the Pflugerville Old Town Park Master Plan.
Summary
The Old Town Park Master Plan focuses on reimagining the park and the historic water tower property to create a unique, innovative space that celebrates one of Pflugerville’s most significant landmarks. The goal is to develop a bold, community-focused vision that highlights the water tower’s historic importance while embracing creative placemaking opportunities for gathering, recreation, and civic pride. Nationally renowned consultants TBG Partners and BRS Architecture are leading the design effort, bringing extensive experience in crafting dynamic, community-driven spaces.
Extensive community engagement has guided the planning process, with the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission serving as the project’s steering committees. Outreach efforts included three in-person committee meetings, an online community survey, and engagement at events such as Deutschen Pfest, Rock the Block, and one dedicated neighborhood pop-up event.
Following City Council discussion, any feedback provided will be incorporated into the plan before it is presented back to the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission for final review. This master plan represents a transformative opportunity to create an iconic public space that captures the spirit of Pflugerville and serves as a dynamic gathering place for generations to come.
