Approving a resolution amending the terms of appointment for the Municipal Judge.
Summary
City of Pflugerville’s Home Rule Charter provides in Section 4.02 that the City Council shall appoint a municipal judge, who shall be an attorney licensed to practice law in Texas and a resident of the City and shall fix the compensation for that office and that all municipal judges shall serve at the will of the Council and shall receive compensation fixed by the City Council. This resolution extends of the term of Municipal Judge Farren Sheehan for an additional two-year term beginning September 10, 2024 ending September 10, 2026, and sets an annual salary of $45,000 effective at the beginning of the first complete pay period following the effective date of the resolution.
Prior City Council Action
City Council took action on April 24, 2018 to appoint Farren Sheehan as Municipal Judge with an annual salary of $38,701 for a term of two years.
City Council took action on November 24, 2020 to reappoint Farren Sheehan as Municipal Judge with an annual salary of $39,862 for a term of two years.
City Council took action on May 23, 2023 to reappoint Farren Sheehan as Municipal judge with an annual salary of $41,855 for a term of two years.
City Council took action on August 28, 2024 to approve the annual pay of $45,000.
