Discussion regarding programming of the new multi generational recreation center.

 

Summary

The City's consultant, Barker Rinker Seacat (BRS) Architecture, will provide an update on the status of the programming efforts of the future multi generational recreation center, to be located in Downtown East, and seek Council feedback on the facility's programming.

 

This project is currently in Phase One, which will determine the project concept including facility size, program of a new multi generational recreation center, estimation of the total project cost, project schedule, pro forma, and examine best uses of the site for input on public private partnership (P3) possibilities.  This phase is anticipated to be completed by January 2022 in order to prepare for the next phase. Phase two will include full design services including construction administration.

 

Prior City Council Action

Pflugerville City Council called a November 3, 2020 bond election for three propositions totaling $191.3 million at the August 11, 2020 meeting which included $47.3M for a new multi-generation recreation center.

 

June 28, 2022 - City Council approved the selection of FGM Architects, Inc, for professional services associated with the City of Pflugerville's multi-generational recreation center project.  BRS is a subconsultant of this contract.
